Following the dramatic economic events of 2008, we should ask ourselves: have western economies lost their competitive edge? Have decades of outsourcing and downsizing drain dour ability ti innovate, grown and prosper? And if this is the case, what can we do about it? The past 20 years have shaped business models and the business landscape: globalisation couple with rapid developments in the new information technologies have made the need for the proper management of the supply chain in its entirety fundamental for all organisations to remain sustainable.
